Harry health

Namel: Noel Dyrdahl Schewe
Comments: I am so glad to hear that my uncle is doing well- I just heard of his hospitalizations. I am sure that the Woodward's must have been freaked out and I am so glad to be able to read about this progress, his humor and be able to let you know that his niece is thinking about him and we wish you all well!

How Jokes Work

Namel: John Gunkler
Comments: I have always enjoyed Harry's explanation of how jokes work. He said it was like counting to 10 this way:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ... 10!
And he illustrated it with this joke:
An older man went to the doctor for a physical exam. The doc was amazed at his good health and asked him, "Is your father still alive?" "Still alive, well I should say so," replied the man. "How old is he?" asked the doctor. "He's 83 and just last week he bungee jumped for the first time." "Wow, that's amazing. How old was your grandfather when he died?" "Who told you he was dead?" asked the man. "In fact, he's 102 and getting married next week." "Why," asked the doctor, "would a 102-year-old man want to get married?" "Who told you he wants to?"

Visit Today 7-19-08

Name: Art Glassman
Comments: Penny and I brought Harry and Mary lunch today and spent some time. Harry is continuing to get better, but has a long way to go. He can carry on a lucid conversation abut almost anything. We enjoyed remembering University of Minnesota Freshman Camp personalities from the 1095-1968 era. Many of Harry's "memories" are not real, but there seem to be fewer of those as time goes by. We can only hope for improvement in that area.

Penny and Harry played on the Odessey Globe, a great geography game that seems to stimulate Harry's memory. Mary and I attended to a little business. If you are emailing them, don't be offended if Mary doesn't answer for a while. Among other things, their computer connection is not working right now.

It will be a long road to recovery, but Mary is as always upbeat and progress, while slow, is being made.
